: Controlling a Z peller Tug
: willowgarth October 19, 2009, 13:19:47
Thanks Tugmaster, Mods and Eddy for the new category, I'll help start the ball rolling with a question for a project that's been on the back burner for some time.  Is there a simple way to control a Z peller tug as per full size by having the props turn through 180 degrees outwards only from ahead to astern rather than rotating through 360 degrees?  Would it be possible to operate them with a servo on each nozzle to give me the movement or would I need motors and gears etc?  I've been modelling all my life but I'm very much a newbie when it comes to RC!.
Cheers,  Fred

Hi Fred,

I am sure we have a German gentleman on the forum, a tugmaster by profession, who has posted how to change his tranmitter to get the same effect as when he controls his actual tug.
I will have a quick scoot through the posts and see if I can come up with his name and post.

Peter.

Found him, the gentlemans name is Stefan, and the post is http://modeltugforum.com/index.php?topic=242.msg2411#msg2411

But I am sure there is another post where Stefan explains in more detail, but it's too late at night for me to explore that avenue, maybe a PM to Stefan would be of assistance.

Thank you for clarifying that post Umi, it was just too late last night for me to search any further.
