Has anyone seen, or have photos of one of Ron Burchett's ARCTIC IVIK hulls built up?

Never knew he built one.

Oh..I think I know the one.

It's a modified 'Happy Hunter' hull, and it belongs to someone else.

The hull is listed in Loyalhanna's list of molds they bought from Ron.  An inquiry to Don produced a reply of "a 1/32 scale hull only"  77" loa., so I don't think it's a modified HH hull.
There is a brochure with GA layout on STX Canada/US Marine's site.

It's listed as a AH 24 'Anchor Handling Survey Offshore Supply Tug.

No worries Mike.  I'm looking for a large OSV hull, and this seems to be about right.  However, 77" with a 15" beam will need a trailer to launch.  I'm also looking into a UT-720 hull/deck kit from here:  http://www.kagelmacher-modellbau.de/

I sent an inquiry as to whether or not they ship to the US, asking what scale/dimensions these hulls are.  The reply was they will ship to the US, but didn't include the scale, and I can't find it on the site  :o ::)

Well I wish you luck Mike.
A large OSV build would be fun, for sure.

If you get the 77" one, you may need an addition built on to your house!

Loyalhanna doesn't seem to be in any rush to get those hulls on the market though.
I inquired about the 'Atlantic Hickory', which was the same hull I used for my Seaspan Royal build; but never heard back from them ??? ???

The UT720 hull is 52"x12" and is 1:50 scale.

I have some pictures around somewhere of the first Arctic Ivik model that Ron built and it is truly an awesome hull. He used the 2" Graupner Schottel Drives (GR1775) mounted sideways in fiberglass tubes for bow and stern thrusters... :)

I placed an order for the 1/50th UT-720 hull and some various parts from kagelmacher-modellbau a month ago...still waiting, but have the motors and korts here.  New build thread on the horizon  :)

At this point, I have a pair of MFA 850's with belt drives  2-70mm kort nozzles from MMM, (beautiful BTW) ordered 2 5 blade kort props from Propshop. Already have 2 12v 12ah batteries, so just need a few 'details'  lol.  This is what I am planning, or one of the sister ships:
I found that http://www.swire.com.sg/ has a wonderful site for us tuggers as they have GA plans for virtually the entire fleet.

I have seen the Hull Ron had as he brought it to Hobby Expo back in the mid 90's and it was shown in a copy of the old Scale Shipmodeler magazine with the coverage from the show. it is big, but really impressive to see. :)
