Hi Zeevaart1
I've been looking at your project and what a great job you've done "VERY NICE".
I'm building a Voith tug at present @ 1:32 scale and the one problem I've got to keep an eye on is the weight. I would of liked to of made some of the fittings from brass / steel like you've done, but have had to revert to using perspex, ali and plastic so as not to add to much weight any idea what the total displacement of your model will be once its finished?

Also how do you keep your workshop so clean, especially after using a lathe / milling machine?

Again its a great job you've done
Regards
Kevin

: zeevaart1 September 17, 2011, 11:51:54
Hello Kev Thank you for the compliments.
The displacement of my model I realy don't now?????.
I think heavy,But that's a problem, for later.
For example, the rudders and nozzles together weigh already three kilo.
His new name will probably be hernia.
I'l keep my workshop clean, once a week  with a very big vacuum cleaner.

That's a work of art!!!
Can I ask how you did the raised lettering for the 'rescue zone' also how were the tools done in the workshop? very nice craftsmanship indeed!!
Have you tried metal ecthing? there was some talk of a step by step on here but as yet not seen anything, unless I've missed it. Obviously it involves chemicals and photo burning. I've heard PPd Ltd (UK) are very good and reasonable but not at that stage of the build yet, just curious for future reference.

So is this a device to catch the hook if the winch fails?
Would be nice to see under the deck for a working view of the mechanics...great workmanship as usual!!

No Kimosabie this is for disconection are own towingline from a another line.

To all Modeltuggers.
After two weeks on board, seated on the Jireh in Fuzhou (China).
I got a urgency message on November 19, saying that I urgently had to contact with home.
There I was told that my wife, she was taken urgently to the hospital in Groningen.
She had had a stroke which her left has failed.
You can see that the life of a sailor is not often on roses, wall I need four days to get home.
As you will understand about my reports remain silent for a while.
because modeling is currently not so important.

Hello

For the first time  (sorry I missed before ...) I surfed on your site  http://www.bergingshaai.nl/  I was surprised as you have already the sister ship  - Rangoon/Pioneer - at 1/33 !  http://www.bergingshaai.nl/pages/36568/Bergingshaai_1_klaar.html

I like your towing line details, not only a modeleler works but seamen ones

Then about this Smit Enterprise, surfing on the dedicated site is interresting ! http://www.bergingshaai.nl/pages/37112/Bergingshaai_2_under_construction.html
