PS When I started looking further into this boat I found sadly that The Burbon Dolphin rolled over in the North Sea on April 12, 2007. There were 8 lives lost including a 14year old boy.

Hello all, yes the loss of the Bourbon Dolphin was a real shock with devastating results. This was not  one of the new bulbous bow Ulstein ships. The coverage of the loss was particularly vivid with lots of coverage as it happened just off our shores. The look of the new  bulbous bow would be quite difficult to model I think but as has been said before.

cheers

Was listening to this OSV running 'sea-trials' today, on the VHF Marine radio.
She hit 15.7 knots :o
She's the 46m long 'Grant Candies', owned and operated by Otto Candies LLC, in the US.

She will be based out of Louisiana, USA.
These pictures show her under construction at Dakota Creek Industries, in Anacortes WA.

Hi Mike, 15.7Kt I'm perplexed is this good or bad? I was under the impression that those vessels which operate in the north Sea are capable of more than 17kt just to give sufficient power to handle the local  weather. Currently blowing at force 6 and t isn't even winter yet.

cheers

To me, Sheet Harbour is Nova Scotia, on the left of the photo is a Maersk F class and the 2 one the right look like Toisa ships, not to sure as my online tracking is not picking up those ships working that way. When was the photo taken ?
