: Seaforth conquer hack build
: PHILNZ January 14, 2014, 11:22:12
Been busy with a couple of builds of recent. Built the seaforth conquer with my usual changes. Also my 20 yr old son wanted a deepsea Trawler so used the same hull for it so built the 2 hulls one after the other . Just a few pics.

I have lost my pics of her on the water ???  Any how she is 6v running twin Mabuchi 3500rpm motors with 55mm props. The deck timber is NZ Rimu a native hard wood. Deck rails are just simple design and not layed out to plan . Mind you thats what i do with my builds (Hack Them around). Also winch area changed and have a roller attached behind them instead of the ropes going through the superstructure they go over the back then to the tow bollard.. First time using a bow thruster which i find really neat to use, I first set her up as 12v but the thruster was 6v and burred out the water paddle in the tube as to much rpm.

trawler is single screw swinging a 65mm prop on 12v , Mabuchi 3500rpm motor. working lights on this one . I was amazed with these hulls that it took 6kg of lead weight and the 2kg battery to ballast them to water line . In saying that thou they both sit nicely in the water and perform really well . The trawler was for my son as i said earlier who lives on the west coast. He has had it out on the local tidal river that has reasonable waves coming up and he is impressed with how it has handled those swells. ( told him to bad if it has engine fail as it surely would become a deepsea vessel LOL)
Sorry again i had more pics to share but have lost them some how .

Thank you Model tugman
Its always abit of fun scratch building a vessel with plans from the mind  ;)  The challanges of how to configure things and final looks etc. I found that the hull design can be used for so many different types of vessels because of shape mainly. Even a cargo ship i reckon.

Good result, Phil. Is the trawler in Sealord livery?

Hi Sea Monkey
No my inspiration came from the Amatal fleet except the blue on the wheelhouse roof that was my doing to break the white.
Photos are of the sister ships Amatal Alantis and Amatal Columbia. Both are in different livery but still blue bottom , red and white.

Very, very nice. If I may ask, what kind of scale, Length, width etc? The hull looks very similar to one I want to build.

hi Boman
The boat is the seaforth conqueror with my couple of changes. The trawler is the seaforth Hull, The super structure  deck etc all original. The length is 1.2m, width is 230mm, the scale is close to 1:50.

Ihave attached the plan that i had increased by 400x i think it was.

Thank you.

I needed 1050mm length, 326 Beam.

But might work with the idea.
