: Steam tug WARRIOR
: model tugman March 05, 2015, 07:57:24
After building two fairly modern tugs I think it is time that I got back to the ones I like , the older steam tugs,   this build is going to be the Steele and Bennie tug Warrior built in 1935.
I bought a cruiser hull from the internet last year and wondered what to do with it, after trawling through the archives I have decided on the warrior because the cruiser hull is as close to hers as I can find.
So last year in between serious builds I had a go at her superstructure to see if it would go on the hull, and then promptly put it under the bench, well I have resurected it and started in earnest, the deck beams are in and the decks are cut from 3mm ply, this is as far as I have got this week.   Geo

Last ones for today as she sits on her stand.
with the only other picture of her that I have.  Geo

Sorry about the picture sizes, my own camera has gone on the blink and I am using my wifes but they seem to come out small.

George, those lifeboat davits are works of art. They look pretty heavy, too. She is looking good.

   Hi George,
Your build standards are fantastic yet another star Tug! like yourself I prefer the older tugs and my long term intention is to build a fleet of "Rea" tugs which are under way (i.e.they are in the shed ready to start building) and eventually will be sailing. I follow all of your builds with admiration for the skill and knowledge that shows in your models, thank you once again for your advice and help with all the problems I have had with the Sun XX1 build without your advice it would have gone on Ebay.
       Cheers,
            Peter.

Hi Tug, yes but the superstructure was built about 6 months ago,and she was re started this month, she has a 12volt M.G.Roadster cooling fan motor in her driving a 4 inch prop.she will also have working lights,You are not far behind me matey, considering yours was a completely new build you are doing really well,  Geo
