New ATB Design!!

Check out the hull form on this new tug!
Three of these are being built in the US, for Crowley Maritime Corp., to push 670', 330,000bbl fuel barges, at 15 knots :o

Specs:
Lenght: 148'
Beam:   60'  :o
Draft:    30'   :o
Power: Twin Wartsila Diesels developing 16,300bhp

 what a strange 'looking beast' ??? i have the latest issue of lekko magazine there's a new crowley atb tug in there named courage   must be this one!

Hi Glen: The first tug in this class is under construction right now at Dakota Creek S/Yard, in Anacortes Wa.

Hi Ray: I read that Crowley has three classes of ATB's under construction presently, at various locations in the US. The one pictured above is a 'Legacy' class, of which none will be completed till early 2010. The 'Courage' is a different class, and more conventional looking.

Certainly one strange looking hull, this one, and not a cheap one to build I bet!

HI MIKE ; If you lok closely that would have to be a 20 foot prop .           PUFFIN
