The hull looks superb Barry. I tried a plank on frame once, years ago, and it ended up with a twist in it, in the end i dumped it. Thats why i use ready made GRP hulls. Although i do feel like i am cheating just a bit.

Coming along nicely there Barry.
Why bother trimming the matting - just leave it  - an make out its a build up of ice  :)

Work now ends for a few days as the fibre glassing is finished. I need to let it harden before starting the long process of sanding it to a good smooth finish.

Not really an advantage - as you now have to fetch your own drinks !

Well, I would like to be posting an update, but as I have made no progress that is not possible.  :( :( :( :( :(

I have worn my fingers to the bone, sanding, more sanding and yet more sanding......I reckon I am about a quarter done..........I will not be beaten by a lump of fibreglass!! :-\ :-\ :-\

Today is a day to celebrate.......not that I have finished the sanding totally, but I have put on the first coat of primer, knowing full well that this will show up any problems with the hull.

To my pleasant surprise it is not too bad. Okay I know the paint ran as I was more intent on covering it than getting it perfect. Once dry, I can do a little more filling and a final sand, before moving onto the next phase!! I do believe that all that hard work might just pay off.....fingers crossed. ??? ::) ::)

Moved on to the internals so using my favourite technique, cutting up cereal boxes, I made a template fro the deck. From this I will cut out the deck in thin ply......as and when I can find some to buy that is....Now looking for prop, shaft and coupling...

Not much work done on the hull, apart from construction of a sub deck, as I have still not decided where to buy my prop and prop shaft from, so I got on with the stand, which has been finished with a little antique finishing oil.

I also started a basic frame for the superstructure, but that is about it for now until I get hold of some more 1mm ply, shaft, prop and some figures...
