'NAME THAT TUG'
« on: March 29, 2009, 05:55:56 »
OK folks, here's an opportunity to test your memory and vessel identification skills.

Here's the drill:

The first member to correctly identify the NAME of the tug pictured, wins the right to post the next Mystery Tug Photo!....and so on....

Easy huh??  We'll see

If things "stall", then hints may be given!!

Let the game begin, and Good Luck :)

PS: Don't be shy as far as guessing goes...and some humorous answers would be a 'blast' also.

Hello

She look like under prior 1967 Coast Guard colors, hard so say the name of this one.  6 in service. Maybe with location of this picture !

Ute - Lipan - Avoyel - Chilula - Cherokee - Tamaroa.

Most probably the pacific based one W150 Avoyel or New Yorker W166 Tamora ?

My guess is Tamaroa, Half of this class had no funnels if I remember rightly.

My first answer was a little speedy I was sure about Coaties ... Now I'm sure she's definitly the US Coast Guard WAT 165 Cherokee prior the 50's

Oh My...that's a mystery alright!!

Do you have a cell phone # for that tug so we can give them a quick call?
Perhaps they can move a couple of those tires out of the way so we can see the name :D :D :D :D

Well Xtian29, my guess would be the Australian tug "Fairfax" (If she is stille named that?)..

Quite a special tug this one! "Fairfax" is if I remember correctly, the worlds first and only all aluminium shiphandling tractor tug.
