Chinese ESC,s
« on: January 19, 2008, 10:52:32 »
Hy Guys
We have all probably been on E,Bay at some time, so most of us have seen the ESC,s from China, at the moment they are going for about 14 buy it now. Has anybody bought one of these, and what do they think of them 75 amp seems excessive, any thoughts.

Hi Bosun,

Yes, I've seen these a number of times and wondered.
Not had my hands on one, but the way I see it, if it looks too good to be true - it usually is.
The 75amps will almost certainly be peek power and not continuous.
Like you I will wait until I meet someone who has use them.

Cheers - Ken

Hy Ken,
I did hear that the soft start would be nigh on non existant, push the throttle forward and it,s instant half power, no good for tug comps or scale sailing. I dont know!!! ???, surely someone has tried one and has some info they can share with us.

I have never had any eperience of these controllers either, I have spoken to a few guys who have bought one and they all said the same about the low speed control being almost non-existant. I normally use Mtronics or ACTion as they are not much more expensive than the chinese ones, plus if it all goes wrong you can get it sorted where-as the imported controller would just get binned.

I HAVE NOT FAILED, I HAVE JUST FOUND A 1000 WAYS THAT DON'T WORK.

Yes, I admit it!! I bought a couple of 'cheap' Chinese ESC's and was totally disapointed!! Instant 'half throttle' and a delay for reverse. Sold them off 'cheaper!!'  It's 'Robbe Rookie-Navy' for me!
