New website idea ?
« on: January 21, 2010, 03:34:51 »
Is there a website out there where you can advertise any RC parts and stuff ....a kind of RC Free ads website ?

A website where you can advertise anything for RC models for free....for tugs, boats, planes, tanks, cars, etc

Any need for such a site ?

Any views ?
Ok, so I like a drop !

...Hello Tugmaster...

I think this is a good idea considering the current "Crunchie Credit" situation...

Could help a lot of modellers get parts they need or indeed get rid of parts that they dont need at not a lot of expense...

I'm not sure what you are planning TugMaster but I thought you had no spare time  ;D ;D ;D ;D

A dedicated website for selling r/c gear is a must in my mind  :) :) :)

Are you thinking along the lines of an 'auction' site or a fixed priced ??

Regards, Dan.
Photos / Information, I nearly have them all !

Thanks Norry/Dan

It would be a classified ads type website, you would load/edit/delete the ad yourself....it would be for anything connected to RC modelling, private or trade and worldwide ...and of course free.

It would be split into many categories so it would be easy to find what you are looking for, cars, boats, electronics, materials, etc

Is it something thats needed out there ? Would it be used/useful do you think ?

It does sound like an excellant Idea and I think it would work......BUT,
would you be able to "police" it
as their will be some scum who will try and sell copied
hulls/ drawings etc and then you could have the manufacturers
falling out with you

I think it could be great but the above point would need to be checked out

i agree to a certain extent with colin about unscrupulous characters selling bits that they don't even have in their ownership.

ebay don't even police their own policies so scumbags get away with it.........don't let yourself be open to law suites because someone rips off someone else........but i agree....a good idea in whole.
neil. :) :)
I'll get it right ONE DAY

Hi TugMaster
I am thinking along the same lines as Neil, you could be bringing a lot of unwanted headaches to yourself; I donít think there is anything wrong with the sales and wanted threads on this site.

Well I think it's the second worst idea ever (the first one was when Mr Hitler said to Mrs Hitler, I am feeling fruity tonight, lets go upstairs) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Could be opening a huge can of worms with big teeth that will eventually turn on you and bite HARD.

The sales threads here and on other R/C forums seem to work well enough...........

I just think it would be a shame to have what is a great idea, defeated because some unscrupulous idiots could cause problems. Maybe as Dan says there is a way to police it.. I agree it does need looking into first though.

 :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

I think the Forum that you and your fellow Moderators have created works 110%, well done to you all and thank you,
it`s a forum for like minded people young and old, over the months I have gleaned a lot of info from text / photo`s, and hopefully
managed to input some;------------current sales on the Forum are genuine and friendly and I would like to see it kept this way.

Yes  a seperate free ads website would be extremely useful but as always  BUYER`S BEWARE!!!!

I also think it's NOT a good idea.

Anything FREE tends to attract the wrong type of customer (by the bucketful) and it would soon swamp itself with undesirables.

Just my two pennyworth.
