Tynesider; Seasider; Wearsider, etc
« on: March 16, 2012, 14:00:12 »
Does anyone know where I could find a general plan of one of these characterful Tyne tugs? I'm most interested to see the shape of the hull and prop arrangement, plus find the overall dimensions. Here's a nice link showing Seasider in action. What lovely tugs these are/were!

Here is a link to my build of the Holmsider, there are a few photos showing the hull shape and kort nozzle.

Many thanks Brian for your reply and the link to your lovely model! Is the Orion Mouldings semi kit for this tug still available?

All the best
Simon

Hi Simon the hull and super structure plus a plan are still available from Orion Mouldings, I think he is going to supply a fittings kit also but I donít think that is available at this moment. I am sure if you contact Anth he will be able to verify this.

Anth at Orion now does the Holmsider as a semi-kit.  Ordered mine yesterday and looking forward to getting it. :)
