Have just ordered an SHG King Midas tug kit, :Smiley being as its my first introduction to tug boats, plus I dont have deep enough pockets to buy anything bigger at present [being made redundant limits even boat builds]. Huh?
So Any suggestions or tips on this boat would be greatly appreciated. As for power train, i was thinking of perhaps replacing the stock motor with a 400 series and using a 7.2v power stick. Would like to do a bit of "belt and braces" here, so it will last, plus be able to do a bit of work too, not just power itself round the water. Smiley

Same would be appreciated as once built, I'll need something to tow behind it, any suggestions on a suitable barge/float. ive seen a few images of barges on here, so can always adjust scale to suit this one I suppose. Grin
many thanks in advance Cheesy

I have two barges built for my Mobile Marine Models Nangee, I think they may have cost a fiver to build, I built mine from scrap plywood I had left over from a job, nothing special, you could make something small for ther Midas to tow just out of scrap, it doesnt have to be big for that boat, about 24 inches long and maybe 6 inches wide, will take about 2 hours I reckon, build swim ends on for realism. Use any good woodglue, waterproof the barge with household paint, not emulsion! And post picures for others to use as ideas. Please.

I was after something to tow, not something to push my tug along with...........

a "springer" is not a barge.

Perhaps im not speaking clerar enough english on here, or prehaps I need  2 months intensive tug language therapy before posting here.
