Cranes Maersk Master scale 1/50.
Hello

The cranes are made of phosfor-brass, 0.2 mm.
I don't have any drawings of special parts.
The drawings I have are only the GA and some small parts.
So for me the only photos I had where very important.
But after new contact with the vessel new information was coming by satelite.

Some parts I rebuild in brass and fosphor-brass, so I can made more details.

The main crane at the sterndeck.

With real bolds 1mm

Myself with the superstructure at the latest IOS meeting in Esbjerg Denmark in 2006.

Leen,

Truely fantastic pictures and a remarkable model.

If you have a little time would you be able to discuss some of the techniques you use to make these finely detailed parts? I'm sure it would be beneficial to most of us--certainly to me.

Please continue to post pictures of your marvelous work.

I made also a building report at teh RCGroups forum and copied it also to the Tug forum.

decals Maersk Master scale 1/50.
The decals of the MM are self made.
Only the white transfers are printed profesional.
The other decals are self made.
I use normal water slide decals (inkjet)

I use the microsoft Visio program to get the right sices
The IMO signs and special decals for the MM where printed at transparant and white decal paper.

Special for the viking life rafts I visited Viking Netherlands.
They helped me withthe original stickers, and stickerplan for the diferant liferafts.

Very Nicely Done :) :) :)

The fine detailing is always one of the most enjoyable tasks in model building....I think ;) ;)

My goal was to made the neon lights as original
I use there fore mouldings.
The first versions where only optic function.
But after I med a friend in Germany with micro LED's I changed my idee and made teh units with holes for the LEDs.
The technics to made the LED strips in the units was the most work.

The LEDs are SMS type 0805.
I solder them in serie and connected it to 12 volt circuit.
of course with the right risistor for the right brightness.

My friend Peter S made a special by himself made elctronic controle print.
So I can start and stop the NEON and natrium light as original.

Here the first photos of the moulded units.

The first originals

The sillicon negatives

The natrium decklamps.

The resulds after 6 months work (to much time) But with a lot of new building knowledge.
