Hercules
« on: May 08, 2010, 08:23:44 »
Hi guys,

I'm trying to find any photos of a tug called Hercules built by Charles Mitchell on the Tyne in 1877. Yard no is 352.

It was a paddletug with two fore and aft funnels. A very small image of the drawings I've obtained can be found here: http://www.tyneandweararchives.org.uk/DServe2/dserve.exe?dsqIni=Dserve.ini&dsqApp=Archive&dsqCmd=ImageView.tcl&dsqDb=Catalog&dsqImage=DS-VA-2-5499web.jpg

The drawings show the vessel flying the Dutch flag, so perhaps she was built for a Dutch company?

So it's a long shot, but if anyone can help with any photos I'd be delighted!!

Regards
Eddy

Oh well, it's sad that there have been approaching 80 views of my original post but no response at all :(

Having said that, I did think it was a bit of a long shot that anyone would be able to help....

Time to do a much more intense search of the internet I feel...

Regards
Eddy
