Tug technique.

Just a couple of illustrations to show how one drawing can be integrated into another to make a totally new scene.

This is Smit's 'Hudson' with a bone in her teeth.

Now, I took that picture and re-scaled the ship inside of MS Paint, and then added it to another I did of the 'Tasman Zee' on station off Lands End. With a fine perspective, it now makes for a new picture - allowing me to have drawn only one ship and the background, adding the other - and coming up with a totally new picture.

I also use this technique for landmarks and the seagulls, so that I can fit both in to a new work with a minimum of fuss - and no re-drawing!
