Tip for using Black Paint.
« on: September 17, 2010, 11:31:12 »
Hi just a quick tip when using Black paint, i would suggest use ither black matt or satin finish, but dont use it straight from the tin, the tip is decant some black into a small container, or plastic lid then add a touch of satin grey, or brown then mix throughly this softens the sheen a little and in my opinion looks less stark on a model, its great for funnel tops, etc, infact a very dark grey sometimes looks more realistic than black itself, also i use med grade wet n dry as roofing felt for wheel houses, then paint with the softened black.  hope readers find this usefull.
