H.M.R.T. Assiduous Tug
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:01:07 »
             H.M.R.T. Assiduous Tug

This is a scratch built model. Made by a highly regarded professional model boat builder to a very high standard. The hull is plank on frame (Lime wood) and sealed inside.
The hull and deck have painstakingly had every single imitation rivet included in what can only be described as a stunning model.
She has working port and starboard lights, mast lights and searchlights. There is too much fine detail to mention on this beautiful model. This is a real head turner and to my knowledge is the only model Assiduous tug I know off (not to be confused with the smaller Model Slipway Tug).

Specification
48 Length,   11 Wide,    28 High
Car windscreen motor for its motor
New Electronize FR15 HVR speed controller
New 12 volt 7amp battery
6 volt battery
New 2.4 Planet T5 Transmitter & Receiver

I would prefer a swap for a model Lifeboat, Tug or possible large Submarine or open to sensible offers
Please PM me for more details

When the model was first built she had a Cheddar proteus steam plant that could be removed in 10 minutes and an electric motor put in which was handy if you could not use steam where you wanted to sail. the steam plant was removed and put into a 1/24th Sun XV.
By the way I am NOT a professional model builder only an very Keen modeller :-[ :-[

but it is nice to have your work appreciated by other modelers    :) :)

The lower picture was taken when she got best in show in 2003 at Billericay
