Did you get my PM there Norm?  Looks like we posted within seconds of each other.  I've got more photos if you want them.

Yup, thanks again Ulrich.  I think I answered your PM (I hope).  Never used it before.  If not, let me know.  Will try again.

I'm sure you've seen this before:

Oh my gosh!  I spent hours by that pond watching the boats. I heard there was something called EXPO 86 happening around there at the same time... ;)

Yup, I was at the Expo but unfortunately I missed this part of it.  Drats!!!  Don't know what ever happened to Ron's barge.  Any one know if it is still arround.  Guess I should have asked him when I last talked to him.

Here's a bit of a cautionary tale that should be right up your alley.  It's about righting a log barge that just kept going over when dumping the logs by Alan Haig-Brown with some photos included.  Lots of other good stories and photos on the site too.

Hi Ulrich,  Thanks for the overturned barge info.  Ron mentioned it in a chat we had a while back, but this is the first time I have seen anything about it in print.  Also thanks again for the Herc pics as they have already helped me out with some of the bulkhead detail.   Soon will seal, fill and paint the hull to check for leaks before closing off the upper deck.  Will still have an access hatch but should check for leaks now.

Down to the slow going part.  All the small detail work.  Sanding and filling getting ready for primer coats.  Will start on loading cranes after hull testing.

It's looking really great.  Amazing what one can do with bits and pieces of wood and metal.

Can't get any pictures to upload to this site.  Says it didn't go due to timeout.  Any hints?
