make time for tosher's

hello chaps and chapettes'
the sumer is well on its way here alongside the roaring waters of the mighty river Graveney and another motor tug slides into the water..
this one is what is know locally as a "tosher" or launch tug, there were many of these working the thames when the river and docks were busy. they usually had a skipper and a mate/boy to work them and while constrained by the horsepower and sheer size to handling a couple of loaded craft in the tideway, in the docks it was as many as you could handle! and time you moved through the dock system and other lightermen would "snatch a turn" ( hitch a lift) as the boat made it way to the lock you could see a small tosher of max 150bhp (union rules, anything over required an engineer) screaming it's nuts off with 20+ craft behind.
this model is of one such boat called originally Kenneth G  belonged to a small firm called Whitehair she changed hands several times and i even worked on her. this model was a request from the present owner and a mate of mine.
Model details
fibre-glass hull  (home made on a card and paper plug)
6V power
2 Ghz 5 chan set
4 blade brass prop
mfa geared 2.5-1 motor.
stern post acts as a cover and pump for the stern tube greaser.

i found when thinking about this one that the size being just under 24 inches long and 7 inches beam she would make a nice tosher at 3/4" to 1' or a nice ship towing tug at 1/4" to 1' hence going for the plug >mould.>Hull idea as i am sure i will get another chance to turn out a tosher or make a small lighterage tug from the extra hull i made when laying this one up.
