Great photos Jim,
I wish you had entered them in the mystery tug comp - I might have stood a chance of getting it, I haven't had a clue about any so far!
They were all Mersey based vessels, the three tenders belonged to Cunard, White Star and CPR respectively and the tug Sarah Jolliffe was  built 1895 and passed to Alexandra Towing Co in 1908 with the takeover. After notable service worldwide in WW1 she served with Alex until 1924 when she was broken up at Garston. The paddle tug belonged to the Bridgewater dept of MSC and With her sister Dagmar towed barges from Runcorn to the Mersey dock system.

Reply to Willowgarth:
Hi Fred,Thanks for the info. I was wondering if you knew anything about the tugs in REAL TUG PICs sub-title `Sad Picture`?
I have put my idea there but have had no verification or denial.

Keep up the good work,

Jim

Hi Jim,

I think you're spot on with your post, all I can add is their former names - Weathercock, Peacock, and Flyingcock. They were built as you say in 1959/60

Cheers Fred

Hi Gang,

A few more `Old-Timers` for you. I believe the one with the name `Wapita` on the pic was actually the CPR tug `Wapiti` 1919--1945.
I think the pic of the `Wapping`1894, is a great one of a tug with 2 masts though she must have been awfull to bunker having to drop the stern one every time as well as swinging the boats out.Last thing you wanted was a couple of lifeboats full of `Nutty Slack`.
The `Wellington` being a mere youngster born in 1926.
