HARBOR TUG/UTILITY BOAT
« on: December 14, 2011, 20:20:01 »
Hey out there,

Thought you might like to see a couple of pic's of my latest project. While looking through a book on the history of Foss Towboat Co. in Washington state, I came across the little gem. Built in 1938, and in service with Foss untill 1972. My build is (VERY) loosely based on this boat. I used a  Krick "BORKUM" steam launch hull, with a 12V motor, and a Vantec esc. Scale is my favorite 1/12th. The deck is planked basswood, as is the cabin, with dollhouse windows and door. The rest of the fittings are from the parts box. On 12V, this thing planes  :o. It is a dream to run; very stable, and very maneuverable.

Footski,

Thanks. I do enjoy planking decks; almost always with a plastic sub deck underneath  :).
