ANNOUNCEMENT - TUGFORUM WEBSITE UPGRADE
« on: February 10, 2012, 03:20:38 »
We are starting the process of upgrading the website to a newer version of the software that runs the site. This is a lengthy and precarious operation!

This is just a for-warning that things may change and look a bit different on occasions but please bear with us.

We hope the new upgrade will resolve the issues that some members have been experiencing.

We expect to be all up and running with the new software within a week from today.

Cheers

TugMaster

When done, the forum should work much quicker and have improvements built in so you can enjoy it even more than now......well that is what we are hoping for anyway! Watch this space..

Go for it - we'll survive the process. Will it alter the posting of photos?

That is one of the main reasons for doing it so we do hope so..... ???

The new version is a big jump not like the smaller upgraded that happens so trying to pay for someone more technical than me to do it.

As well as trying to stop some of the niggley issues I am also trying to upgrade the forum to a new version which would stop one of the MAIN problems that affect me very directly, as the Administrator ...this is spam registrations.

As of this exact moment we have 12,416 registrations waiting for approval ! ....gives you an idea of the scale of spam registrations we have....and every single one has come into my own email inbox !!! I only activate accounts where someone has contacted me now ...I have put this in the registration agreement when they sign up that they must contact me to get account approved. The new upgrade has better security facilities and would stop this.

Hi folks,
have you finished the update, if not it looks as if it will be a bigger improvement than imagined, as mine in normal reading use is already about 500% better than a week or so ago.
Great stuff.
