Poll:Weekly Update Board
« on: April 07, 2008, 20:35:07 »
Hello All!
What do you all think about a new 'board', on the forum,in which we can all share our weekly progress concerning our 'builds' and such?
That way , we can all keep 'up-to-date' with what we're all doing!
It could be called: "This Week on the Workbench" or "This Week in Drydock" or something to that effect.
I personally really look forward to seeing everyone's progress.

What are your thoughts??
The more input, the better, on this one!! :)

Sorry dont agree at all there is enough boards on this forum as it is.In my opinion far too many and half could easily be condensed. What is the point of having a weekly build board,no point at all If you cant be bothered in checking on a particular build well heaven help you let alone the simplest way is to click on UNREAD POSTS SINCE LAST VISIT.That is my opinion and I am entitled to ii.

A cracking good idea Mike, sometimes there is little to report on the main thread but sufficient to place a note onto the forum. It may even tempt those short of time to pop  a  short snippet on rather than add to the main threads. The weather should now be improving to a degree where working in the unheated garage may become a pleasure again and get something happening here.

cheers

I'm with Stav on this one..........Having weekly updates like this will fragment the forum and threads, build threads will be doubled up if updates are put in both topics and if they are not doubled up there will be 2 separate threads,  not a good idea.

I am not sure I like the idea. I like to have the whole of a build in one place. It's going to be too confusing to have everything jumbled together, unless you keep each build in its own thread - you probably intend this, but it can be done already under the "specialist" heading. I think I prefer to see all the builds of one type of tug together, rather than have all types mixed up together in one building board.

I also prefer that folks just post when they feel they've achieved something worth reporting rather than that they feel obliged to submit weekly trivia or even apologies. So if you decide to go ahead, I would prefer that the title of the board not include the word "week".

I agree with Stavros.

We should be condensing the boards rather than expanding them. I, for one, read all the letters and have to switch boards to read the next batch, and sometimes come across information that I would never find by searching .

Several of the subjects could actually be Merged. The Forum is so knowledgeable and informative for Tuggies that it's best to keep it filed tidy.

Just my two'pennies worth.

Cheers...ken

Very good points!!

Just for the record, I'm not saying anything's broken, or even needs improvement, quite the opposite; as a member of many forums and clubs, I'm astounded with the true course this forum has maintained!!
Did'nt intend to ruffle any feathers here, just put an idea out to all for debate, that's all.

Mike,

You keep the ideas coming....If the forum don't want them we will say so, but any ideas are better than none, and anyway a good old argument is good for the soul...
