Hi Dave,

I dont know if you have tried this place, they have a good variety of parts and bits in the fittings section and i am sure i have seen Davits there.  http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/index.html.

Welcome Aboard Dave,

Phil is right on. Perfect Davits at Cornwall Model Boats. In fact, I use
their pictures as models for the ones I make. I am building a 65 inch
tug. I don't know if that is the size (1/24th) you are seeking davits for
but you will indeed find some beautiful reproductions.

Cornwall Model Boats davits are about 2 and 1/2 inches tall and are
too short for my scale. But. . .at about a dollar each, a superior buy.
The davits are here:

http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?REFPAGE=http%3a%2f%2fwww%2ecornwallmodelboats%2eco%2euk%2facatalog%2fship_fittings%2ehtml&WD=davit&PN=amati_davits%2ehtml%23aA4804#aA4804

Here is how I make my davits from copper tubing. In the picture below,
I don't show a davit but the railing is the same. 1/8 inch copper fittings
are perfect to use with copper grounding wire. I bend with a tubing bender
and "Wire Wound" tubing bender. Gentle hammering on a flat board will
produce straight sections. Solder together and you can even make it work
if you want to put a bit more time into your perfect davits. Your local
hardware store has "Awning" pulleys and blocks and tie down cleats.

Be sure and send in some pictures or URLs of what you find Dave,
and again, Welcome Aboard.

Sorry to go off topic in your thread, but I just had to give some 'kudo's' to Michael.

Hi Dave    Imake a lot of 1/24th scale tugs and yet have to find a supplier of davits so I make my own, have a look at the drawing of parts and see if it will help you.  Geo B
