Our tow sub.
« on: November 06, 2012, 08:13:09 »
He coolre's a few pics of our sub, just over 9ft, we built it out of some left over drainage pipe we found.  all it is, is 2 lengths of pipe bolted together, another length cut in half for the top part, conning tower, bow +stern made with that blue insulation board, a scaffold pole underneath for ballast, we had to put a couple of baffles to give it a bit of drag, now it has a mind of it's own, but a great tow.....

The tug pulling the sub is my Smit Nederland. As Cobby said it is a bit of a challange getting the sub to go where you want it to, but it is a good tow. Just to add to Cobbys info...it took two days to build and paint and another day to test and add the baffles and all done at the lion park club site by Cobby and myself.

By the way the very hansome guy in the pics is me.. cool
