WINCHES

HI ALL ; Looking for a WORM GEAR  for a winch I'm building . The gear needs to be about  one inch to one / half inches  ( 30 to 40 MM ) ,IN DIAMETER . The  worm  under  1/2 inch  ( 12 MM )  in diameter wide .    PUFFIN

Check out Stock Drive Products which sell a HUGE variety of gears, pulleys, belts, shafts, etc, etc, etc, etc by
mail order and will sell small quantities.  They carry almost EVERYTHING you will ever need for your power system.
The prices are not unreasonable.  they will have worm gears.

Well will try this again.  Seems my post went off to never never land.  Maybe it was too long winded.
Puffin, hope you got the info you were looking for.  Built a winch under the deck from an old gear reduction unit from an old christmas ornament.  Ran the tow line thru the deck over the deck winch drum to make it look like it was working. It is a free wheeling drum.  Lots of tow line. Works fine on the bench.  Sea trials in the spring.  Controled by transmitter elivator control via servo and reversal switch.
