India.

Seems that India as an 'emerging nation' wanted more World wide publicity.

An Indian Grand Prix was suggested. A different idea though, only open to Indians. The race was advertised and over 10,000 applications were received!

Had to be less than that or sheer chaos so it was decided to limit the competitors to just 500.

All sorts of 'filters' were used to lower the amount of eligible competitors. Age, height, weight and solely for males. That brought in 1,980 new applications.

A lot of different religions in India and after all possible 'filters' were used still over 900 applicants left!

The final 'cut' being made that only castrated males could compete. That brought the applications down to 500 exactly.

Now what should they call the race? A race has to have a name after all.

Finally settled on, wait for it!

The Indian Knackerless 500!

I thought it was quite good when I first heard it 40 odd years ago!

Happy New Year to you and yours Russell.

Best wishes.
