Unidentified Tug - Can you help?
« on: September 20, 2013, 03:52:13 »
Hello, I have just acquired this boat and would like to see if anyone can identify her. She has no name or other markings that could positively identify her. The hull is glass fibre with plasticard topsides. Propulsion comprises 2 x 6v Decaperms controlled by 2 x 'Black Box' ESC's which drive 2 large props within steerable nozzles. The boat is about 2 feet long and has been finished to quite a high standard and has a strong and purposeful towing hook that is fixed to heavy foundations in the hull. The nav lights and the fire monitor work. The prevoius owner believes she is at least 20 years old. If anyone recognises their or someone elses work please let me know.

Thanks Chaps! YARRA it is. Looks like the builder of mine opted to upgrade the propulsion with these big nozzles which I think were sourced Mobile Marine Models. Will be getting her fettled and on the water soon to check the bollard pull.

I checked with Deans, they have only recently added Yarra to their product line and so mine must have been scratch built from plans. Does anyone know who supplies plans for this boat?
