Watkins Dhulia on a 45" hull
« on: May 14, 2015, 10:01:40 »
I know this is unusual for me but I completely forgot to take any pictures of this build as I was actually enjoying it so much, the story is that one of my friends bought a metcalf Avenger part built kit from fleabay, when he got ,well what a mess, so it ended up on my bench, my opinion of these kits has already been noted on the Forum, so it was stripped out completely  deck as well and the hull was then strengthened with glass and cloth to make it workable, I the had some drawings of the Dhulia enlarged to suit the 45" hull and started on the build MINUS the camera on the bench, it was only when chatting to some club members that the error in my ways was pointed out and I started to click away . so humble apologies for the lateness of the build in the post.  Geo

The hull was the only part of the kit that I have used along with the windlass, everything else is scratch built apart from the fittings most of which are MMMs oh and a 90mm prop shop prop.

Fine, fine work George. A pleasure to look at and she plows the water perfectly - Michael
