Got more shackles and some chain from Harbor Models and put it all together for towing gear.

Cool.  That should keep the towline out of the props.

Thank you for sharing your chains and plates Scott. I really like chains and their
assorted hardware. My chain collection is small now but was once up to a couple
of tons, real chain size and all.

I didn't know that Harbor Models has a selection of the perfect sizes and style
of chain for one's tugboat. Even though I build large scale, they have the sizes
I need. So, thank you for the tip, I indeed learned yet another good way to make
my tug builds not only look good but perform their work well.

As an example of the hours I spent looking for the perfect chain and gear, here is
a picture I made a few years ago. If I had known then that I could just check out
Harbor Models chain I would have saved a lot of time cruising the Internet. Yet again,
our Model Tug Forum here has given me the "where" to go to get the best for my tug.

Yet another case of why men and women go down to the sea in ships. . .A pleasure to be here and smell the salt air. Thank you Tugboat Forum. . .Michael in Anacortes, Washington www.twotugboats.com

That's great Michael.  I just took delivery of more shackles and a couple cleats for my barge as well, to hang my bridle chain off on. Also got a new larger prop for my first RC tug. Choices were limited due to shaft size which is 1/8th inch. Only suitable prop they had was a 5 blade at 1.2 inch diameter.  Slapped it on today and then went and towed my barge around with it. I do believe the boat pulls harder with this prop on. I have some video to post of it when I get them loaded on to youtube.

Here I hope is a pic of her today charging along with barge.

Look at my Updated Carol Moran thread for the video.

Pretty neat stuff!  Afraid I too cannot quite wrap my feeble brain around this new fangled 3-D stuff.
