Bremen Fighter (ex. Primus) got wire into propeller
« on: July 20, 2016, 00:18:22 »
URAG's Bremen Fighter (ex. Herms Bergung's Primus) limped back on one engine from a wind park off the Irish coast to the Muetzelfeldtwerft shipyard in Cuxhaven/ Germany with a towing wire in its port propeller. Here are some photos in drydock: http://www.cn-online.de/stadt-land/news/reparaturauftrag-fuer-muetzelfeldtwerft.html

Sorry, the report is in German but the photos speak for themselves I think.

Rudder, propeller, propeller shaft, and gear box are damaged. They were removed and sent to the respective manufacturers for repairs. URAG hopes to have the Bremen Fighter back in business in October 2016. The expected costs are several hundred thousand Euro.

The Bremen Fighter (ex. Primus) was built on the Muetzelfeldtwerft yard in 2004.
