Springer Tug in Vienna!!
« on: October 06, 2016, 09:36:00 »
Hi @ all...
While I`m still working on my Bison tugboat, I decided to have another build for the cold season. So I gathered some infos about springers, and started yesterday with the build. The plans come from Mak Sui-shin, as they were posted at RC-Groups, http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=522762. Somewhere I found some good drawings for the superstucture, and my admiral lokked at them and decided which one to build. The hull is basically completed now, just a bit of grinding and laminating missing. I used 3 mm balsa wood for the hull, I had more then enough for the full hull! So I will not need to buy too much for this winter project.

Regards
Gerhard

Update, once again.....
The stairs to the wheelhouse are done and fit well in place, used some old wood stripes for that.

Hi again...
The Springer`s wheelhouse has got windows. They are made from 0,5mm clear plastic sheet, and fixed with wood stripes of 0,5 x 1mm plus 1 x 4mm measure.
And the roof has its final colour, just the position lights still mising.

Best regards
Gerhard

Next things done at the wheelhouse, interior is set in. The floor was downloaded from the net, by searching for "Schiffboden Bilder" , also all the other paper parts as the compass and the monitor. The map on that little monitor shows the Vienna harbour Freudenau.
