Pusher tug HIGHNOON
« on: December 11, 2016, 11:09:00 »
Evening all
This tug iv been working on for the last 12 month's
It's based on a picture of a  model i saw a good few year's back  on the internet
I used a mobilemarine afon alaw hull as the base
So i fitted the running gear two 60mm kort's & prop's 900 motor's
Large brushless home made bow thruster

First picture is of the model from the net

Looks good. I like the little compressor tucked away under the ladder.

Hi Ben,

Can i ask why have you left the bow thruster tube extending out from the hull form at the bow?

Darren.

Hi Darren
I all ways build my tug's for tug towing competitions
So a good bow thruster is needed well for me anyway
I leave the tube sticking out is only to get a good seal to the hull

Hope it help's Mate

Can I ask a pertinent question Jason, why is a good bow thruster needed for tug towing? As I have not yet seen a real harbour tug with a bow thruster.
