Kenley JP Knight Push Tug
« on: December 31, 2016, 02:42:48 »
Hi everyone,
Here is my latest attempt. She is Kenley of JP Knight still operating with a few others in South America. She's used for pushing a barges full of bauxite used for making aluminium. I built her this autumn and she's ready for wiring and trial in the spring. She sits well on her marks she has one large barge to push. She's got twin 12 volt motors in fixed korts with large becker rudders. She is ply with a GRP hull approximately 32''. The push shoulders are built of square U aluminium bolted and attached to the shoulders into which closed cell foam has been inserted with a rubber fender attached so as to allow movement when pushing the barge.
Hope you like her.

Mast lights, life belts etc are now fitted but not on the pictures. And the barge loaded with the nearest thing I could find as bauxite.
Happy new year to everyone!

Excellent Caliph. . .thank you for sharing. Your pusher is superb but my eye went to
your barge. But then I'm the kind of guy who goes to a boat show and goes nuts
over the anchors. Really Caliph, I'm going to do a second showing of your photos.
