switches for Mtronics sound module
« on: March 14, 2017, 23:50:52 »
Hi,
have just got a Mtronics Napier diesel sound module and it looks pretty solid.
However, I want to control the on/off function of the sound and the horn from the transmitter.

As per the Mtronics scheme there is only a white wire which is to be controlled to sound the horn for example. However, Mtronics have no such switch in their range to control these functions.

Would appreciate if someone can suggest where I can get a switch which will suit this set-up.

Regards
Claes

I have had a look at the instructions for the sound module and think that a microswitch mounted on a servo could be used.  Connect the white wire from the module for the horn to the Com Terminal of the microswitch and then another wire from the N/O terminal to the negative of the main battery, max 12v.  The servo arm will control the microswitch and complete the electrical circuit for the horn to sound.

The photo show how I use a microswith with a servo to switch on different circuits.
