TUG---Questions--Need some ideas
« on: August 31, 2017, 09:21:32 »
Might build a 31.5x16.125 Tug called Lil Salty flat bottom.
Info here
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?1404112-Salty-Flat-bottom-and-box-keel-tugs-free-plans!
Plans are for a 21". I like to make it 50% larger.

My question what size motor and prop should I use.
Wood 1/8"
Motor 540 ?
Prop 35mm ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi there, I would go for a mix of timbers 1/8th and 1/16th, and as for motor possibly a geared MFA 2 or 2.5 to one with a 45 or 50 MM prop.
It is a tug after all and they use bigger slower reving props.  George.
