She is going to be built using an old Cervia hull that will require some major surgery, the old internals and decking was stripped out ,the the rubbing band and bulwarks were cut off and the sheer was reduced a bit.
The old really heavy paint was then stripped off of the hull using a blow lamp and chisel.

Tha rise of deck aft also had to be reduced, and when this was done the deck support beams were fitted.

It was now time to reshape the bow as Cervia had a bluff bow profile and I need a much finer entry.

Once all the deck beams were in and all sanded fair, the deck were cut out of 1/16th ply.

Hello Spud oh no I have got six photos of her,it makes it much easier He He.
What I have done is to draw a sort of set of plans from the photos at half size and am using them for sizes  etc, but the photos give the finer detail as such, so in reality it is a lot of modellers licence as old photos are not clear enough to blow up .

Hi tugman

Thats a good idea to draw your own plans  from the photos you have available.
Do you know if she has any sister ships?
Is it a commercial hull?

Keep the updates of your build coming please

Hi Spud , she was a one off ,built in 1937-38 in Holland quite powerful for a steamer in the day 1400 hp.
The hull is an old Cervia hull that I had laying about and with some radical surgery has turned out ok.

Hi tugman

You must have some rare photos of tug's in your collection,

I have looked at building a cervia tug on one of the GRP hulls that's available , maybe one day☺
Your hull is looking good after the surgery 👍,looking forward to seeing more

Looks great. Keep the photos coming, please George.
There's a wealth of 'how to do it right' information in every one of your photos.
I hope you've got something else lined up after this one.

Hi Steve, thanks for your kind words, the next one will be a kit modification, I managed to get a Robbe Jan tug kit from the Internet,
And I hope to build a tug called FairPlay X from it, as it has a bit of history for me, she escaped to England at the beginning of the Second World War, And was put under the management of a local tug firm, in 1940 she was at Dunkirk and my Dad was her Engineer, she was renamed FairPlay one at the time.
This is a picture of her as FairPlay X.
