Svitzer FERRIBY
« on: March 02, 2019, 18:40:44 »
Hello all. Although I am an active member of RC Forums in the US I am rather new here. Browsing the modern tug section I see there have been quite a few builds of Svitzer tugs. Nicely done for certain. I currently have FERRIBY under construction. Does anyone have photos of this Southampton based tug? Close ups of mast details, railings, spot light, radar, etc would be most appreciated. Iíve been working from online photos, GA plan of a Damen 2411 tug, & information kindly provided by FERRIBYís former mate.
I am far enough along where I am seeing scale discrepancies Iíve built in by using proportional measurements & parallax errors introduced photo analysis.
Would appreciate any assistance & perhaps the name of a helpful contact at Svitzer.

Yes, that is an infrequent but recurring issue with the site. I always use jpg files and a couple of times a year they get the 'fail' message. If this happens I try uploading them one at a time and can usually find the offending file by process of elimination. No rhyme or reason to it. That security thing is a pain in the proverbial. Try again tomorrow I'm sure the boys would enjoy your project.

I use Microsoft Paint to reduce the size of the photo.  This reduces file size, with no noticeable loss of resolution at normal zoom levels.

Hi Chum444

Is that a commercial hull you've used, or did you build it yourself?  What scale?

The hullis Gary Hartís Tiger Sun. I modified as best I could to replicate a Damen 2411 hull. Hull form is a bit off but Iím confident I can make it work.
