Tugmasters Revenge????
« on: August 28, 2008, 09:55:02 »
Well having given the poor chap more stick than he deserves whilst sat in a wet caravan, I think it only fair to give him the opportunity for a good laugh at my expence!!!!!

Footski's Springer Tanker is in a spot of bother. Painted below the waterline last week. Today after masking off with good quality tape I sprayed above waterilne and got a cracking finish. Peeled off the tape and the red paint under it came with it.

I have already had Stavros on my case for ignoring his instructions so only myself to blame.....Now no one tell me they never make mistakes....please!!!!

I will spend the next couple of days kicking myself.....Don't laugh too much Tugmaster.......or anyone else for that matter :-[ :-[ :-[

No advise, just an earful for not using primer or rubbing down enough. I used an old matt varnish as a primer, rubbed it down and applied the paint over that. I should always take the advise and try not to mix the brands I think....

Wine?       Now thats a good idea...I'll just give Mrs Footski a shout.......Too busy to pour my own........Mind you it is nice at this time of year!!!

I ain't never made one misteak in my life.  And in 40 years in real boats, I never went aground.  Oh, Oh,  :ohere comes a lightning bolt!

Did you use the 3M blue painter's tape?  I have yet to pull any paint off with that stuff.
